The story

Behind “Światła Warszawy

Światła Warszawy — Lights of Warsaw.

The name already carries weight. Warszawa itself comes from Warsz, a medieval knight — a short form of Warcisław, “the one who returns glory.” The city that first believed in this music was named after a warrior.

Before the numbers, before anyone else, the first lights on the map were Polish. Listeners in Poland found the tracks when the rest of the world was still dark. They showed up first. They switched the city on.

This track is for them. A thank-you and a quiet celebration of the culture that arrived early — electronic, cinematic, and glowing from the inside, the way a city named after a knight looks after dark.

There’s an older current running underneath as well. The melodic, emotional side of electronic music first hit me at fifteen through Chicane’s “Offshore.” That track is the reason this whole journey exists. You can hear the lineage here: the same hopeful, luminous melody that made a teenage kid fall in love with the sound and never look back.

So the title isn’t just geography. It’s recognition. The lights of a warrior’s city, lit for the people who believed first.

Dziękuję, Warszawa.
